Stir your senses with our chocolate. A chocolate tasting, much like a wine tasting, engages more than your taste buds. All five of your senses are used to judge and experience the complexities and nuances of fine chocolates.
What’s more, we have developed a delicious and fun guide to help expand your chocolate experience by pairing specific varieties with wine, coffee, tea and more.
Pairing With Wine
Wine and chocolate paired together? They're natural companions. Both have complex flavors and notes, both have similar components and nuances in common. A wine and chocolate pairing follows the same kind of process as a wine or chocolate tasting, except you taste both together.
Rule #1: Pair lighter chocolates with lighter wines; darker chocolates with full-bodied wines.
Rule #2: Go from light to dark in your tasting session, starting with milk or lower percentage cacao chocolates and their corresponding wines.
- Try our Mango, Lime & Chilli Dark Chocolate with a Zinfandel or Shiraz.
- You can pair our organic dark orange chocolate with Muscat.
- Try our semisweet dark chocolate with a Pinot Noir or Merlot.
- With our mild milk chocolates, try Rieslings, Tokaj or Light Reds.
- The milk & nuts varieties are perfect with a Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Try our wine chocolate with the wine varietal equivalent.
Pair With Your Favourite Coffee.
Espresso drinks like Caffé Mochas, Caffé Lattes and Ristrettos make perfect sense with chocolate.
However, dark chocolate is ideally paired with Indonesian, Brazilian, Ethiopian, Guatemalan and dark roast coffees. Milk chocolate is a more versatile partner, but Colombian or Kenyan roasts are clear favourites.
Match With A Fine Cup of Tea.
Teas are another parfect partner, and have as many combinations to choose from.
For starters, Assam or English breakfast teas work very well with our Buttermilk chocolate whilst Lapsang Souchong compliments our Mango, Lime & Chilli Dark Chocolate.
Partner With Cheese.
It can be a challenge to get the balance or flavours right, but it really pays off.
Try our wine chocolate drops with taleggio cheese or soft-ripened organic cow's milk cheese and our Buttermilk Chocolate will suit creamier cow’s milk cheese. Be sure to find your own perfect combination.
Or Simply Savour It On It’s Own.
Our chocolate has dinstictive complexities and levels of flavor. You will find unique qualities for each variety you taste be it flavor notes to texture, to finish. You’ll find each one has it’s own personality.
Take time and pleasure to find your our favourites & enjoy with nothing more than a little quiet time to yourself.
